These rooms look after our very tiny babies from 6 weeks to approximately 18 months.
In the Tiddler room we promote gross motor skills to encourage the babies to crawl and walk. We carry out a wide variety of tactile activities to develop fine motor skills and their senses by using their hands and feet to explore the different textures. We use sound throughout play to help develop the first stages of language and carry out singing sessions morning and afternoon to develop sounds.
In the Seahorse room we promote gross and fine motor skills by carrying out a variety of construction and tactile activities, this also helps to develop their senses and language by exploring the textures and making sounds. We set up activities based on schemas which show patterns in the way children play which enhances their learning and stages. We use different sounds and segment words during their play to support their language development.
